Sag Alles Ab!

Cancel everything

About

Who are you?

I am sagallesab2. I’d rather be sagallesab, but the nick was already taken. Funny enough, the blog’s URL was not. Go figure.

What does the nick mean?

“Sag alles ab” means “call everything off”, or “cancel everything”, in German. It is also the title of a very nice song by the German band Tocotronic.

I am not German, and I am still learning the language. Music helps.

Where do you live?

In a certain underdeveloped Latin American country.

You shouldn’t use the PC term “developing”. The country where I live is not.

To give you an idea: a few years ago, some US Intelligence agency prepared a detailed report on my country. The report said, among other things, that “corruption in [country X] is endemic.”

Now, the government, the press and the people in my country went into a furor over that accusation.

Rumor has it that officials here solved the problem by offering the US Intelligence people a substantial bribe to delete that sentence from the report.

What do you do?

I am a college professor. Computer science.

Is that all?

Of course not. But the rest is probably none of your business. If it is, I’ll post it here eventually.

Thanks for reading.
